Hello planners,
many times in the past I found myself looking for information on the internet about high level planning.
I wanted to plan better since I encountered many challenges in different organizations. Unfortunately I did not find anything that fitted my needs, so I decided to create my own website.
This site explains how things work through many examples and actionable suggestions.
I hope that other readers will join me and add more blog posts and information to this site.
About me:
My name is Gal Merom. I worked as a planning and control manager at a pharmaceutical company, a planner at a medical device company, and an aluminium profile company. I have also worked on capacity models, an Adexa planning tool, and RTD (real-time dispatching) as an IE engineer at a semiconductor company.
I always look for the best ways to plan. If my company has good software planning tools, I will upgrade them to max the potential. If the company doesn’t have relevant planning tools, I will develop them. I usually use MS Access to read data from the ERP, process them, and return the exact results that I am looking for.
Since I had to develop many algorithms from scratch, I had to understand how they worked. So I am happy to share them on this website.
